Veiling Ford Thunderbird

Zaterdag wordt een exemplaar van de Ford Thunderbird van Jinx uit Die Another Day geveild.

Ter gelegenheid van de première van de film Toy Story 3 van Disney Pixar wordt er morgen  een gala/veling georganiseerd voor een goed doel. Het gaat om de  Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. De veiling vindt plaats in de Verenigde Staten.

In de film vinden we trouwens een oude bekende. Niemand minder dan Timothy Dalton leent zijn stem aan het karakter Mister Prickelpants.

Onderdeel van de veiling is één van de originele Ford Thunderbirds uit de film Die Another Day (2002). In de film, die bol staat van verwijzingen naar veertig jaar James Bond op het witte doek, schittert Pierce Brosnan voor de laatste keer in de rol van 007.

Bondgirl is Halle Berry. Ze speelt de rol van Jinx. Tijdens een presentatie van Gustav Graves op IJsland komt Jinx aangereden in een koraal gekleurde Ford Thunderbird.

De Thunderbird wordt geveild. Het gaat niet om het oude (bekende) model maar om een retroversie uit 2002. Ook deze auto heeft de kenmerkende ronde achterlichten en de patrijspootjes aan de zijkant.

De veiling vindt plaats in Californië om precies te zijn bij de Disney Pixar Studios in Emeryville. Naast de Ford worden er nog meer attributen uit films geveild.
