De film breekt vele records en krijgt ook vele nominaties binnen voor awards zoals de BAFTA`s; De Britse filmprijzen. 

Elke grote Hollywood film ontvangt vele nominaties voor awards in en na het releasejaar. Quantum Of Solace is hierop geen uitzondering. De film is genomineerd voor vele gala`s. Sommigen zijn al geweest. Of de awards zijn verzilverd vertellen we u nu.

The BAFTA`s

De British Academy Of Film And Television Arts heeft haar nominaties voor de Long List bekend gemaakt. Quantum Of Solace staat op de nominatielijst voor zeven categorieën. In 2007 voor Casino Royale (2006) waren het er veertien. Quantum Of Solace staat op de nominatielijst voor de volgende categorieën: Visual Effects, Sound, Editing, Production Design, Cinematography, Music en Best Supporting Actress –  Dame Judi Dench (M). Dit meld Variety. In 2007 won Casino Royale twee BAFTA`s. Die voor Sound en de Orange Rising Star Award voor Eva Green in de rol van Vesper Lynd. De awards worden op 8 februari uitgereikt in het Royal Opera House in Londen, Groot Brittannië voor films, televisieproducties en kinderprogramma`s.

De Oscars© werken op een vrij gecompliceerde manier. Alle filmmaatschappijen kunnen hun producties aandragen voor een van de prestigieuze beeldjes. Dit doen ze dan ook massaal. Na een eerste selectieronde vallen er al veel af. De films die het redden komen op de Long List te staan. Hierna volgt opnieuw een ronde en deze bepaalt de gegadigden voor de Short List. Komt een film daar doorheen dan maakt hij naast meestal vier andere film kans op een Oscar©. Quantum Of Solace is voor vele categorieën door de filmmaatschappij aangemeld. De nominatie voor beste Visuele effecten op de Long List heeft er niet voor gezorgd dat de film het tot de Short List heeft geschopt. Dit meld The Los Angeles Times.

The Film Critics Association’s Critics Choice Awards.

Op het 14de gala van filmcritici in Santa Monica, Los Angeles heeft Quantum Of Solace twee nominaties niet waar kunnen maken. De film was genomineerd in de categorieën Actiefilm en filmsong. Voor de eerste categorie won The Dark Knight en voor de tweede viel The Wrestler in de prijzen. Critici uit Canada en de Verenigde Staten kiezen de volgens hen beste films van het jaar. The Cinema Audio Society Awards

Quantum Of Solace heeft een nominatie in de wacht gesleept voor een Cinema Audio Award. Het gaat om de categorie voor best Sound Mixing. De film heeft in deze categorie concurrentie van The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Slumdog Millionaire en Wall-E. De awards in vijf categorieën worden op 14 februari uitgereikt in Los Angeles, Verenigde Staten.

Quantum Of Solace is een succes in de Verenigde Staten en Canada

En niet zomaar een succes. De film heeft Casino Royale qua opbrengsten ingehaald! Een buitengewone prestatie. Casino Royale bracht 167 miljoen dollar op. Quantum Of Solace heeft al 100.000 dollar meer opgebracht in de bioscopen. Dit meld MGM.

$167.1 Million Gross In North America—And Counting—Surpasses Casino Royale

At the motion picture box office, there is one man who keeps showing that nobody does it better: Bond. James Bond.

Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures’/Columbia Pictures’ Quantum of Solace, the 22nd James Bond adventure, has taken in over $167.1 million to become the most successful Bond film of all time in North America, surpassing the $167 million grossed domestically by Casino Royale, it was announced today by Jeff Blake, chairman of Sony Pictures Worldwide Marketing and Distribution. The film is still playing in 891 theaters in the United States.

In addition, Quantum of Solace has grossed another $382.9 internationally, with the important market of Japan still yet to open. Taking in a worldwide gross so far of $550 million, Quantum of Solace is already the second-highest grossing Bond film of all time worldwide.

Commenting on the announcement, Blake said, “It is always gratifying when the audience responds to a film, but to be working with a character as successful as James Bond and see the two films Sony has handled become the two most successful films in the history of the franchise makes us all tremendously proud. It has been a special thrill to work on the Bond films, and we couldn’t be more excited by the success of Quantum of Solace.”

Daniel Craig reprises his role as Ian Fleming’s James Bond 007 in Quantum of Solace, the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures/Columbia Pictures release of EON Productions’ 22nd adventure in the longest-running film franchise in motion picture history. The film is produced by Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli and directed by Marc Forster. The screenplay was written by Paul Haggis and Neal Purvis & Robert Wade.
