Activision kondigt 007 Legends aan

Het is bijna een traditie dat er elk jaar een nieuwe James Bond videogame verschijnt. Ook in 2012 trakteert Activision de gamers van deze wereld op een nieuwe James Bond titel. Het spel heet 007 Legends en gaat in op vijftig jaar James Bond historie op het witte doek.

Het verhaal bevat zes films welke door een origineel verhaal aan elkaar worden verbonden. De laatste film is Skyfall. De drieëntwintigste in een reeks die al sinds 1962 (Doctor No) erg succesvol is. De game voert de speler naar exotische locaties en bevat hypermoderne gadgets, stoere voertuigen en een groot wapenarsenaal waaronder de beroemde Walther PPK 7.65 mm.

Natuurlijk ontbreken de bondgirls niet. Welke dat zijn is nog niet bekend. Ook de vijf andere films waarin de game zich afspeelt zijn nog geheim. Naast het verhaal is het ook mogelijk om de Mi6 Ops Missions modus te spelen. Deze debuteerde in Goldeneye 007 Reloaded. Hierin moet de speler goals behalen en speelt hij of zij extra missies.

Mi6 Ops Missions is geheel online. Je speelt de gamemodus alleen maar kan topscores neerzetten en die van anderen verbeteren. 007 Legends bied ook een uitgebreide multiplayer aan. Voor het eerst kruip je in de huid van Bonds handlangers en schurken zodat je missies door hun ogen en die van 007 gaat spelen.

De multiplayer bevat missies voor vier spelers uit 50 jaar James Bond. De missies kunnen zowel in een vier schermen modus als online worden gespeeld. Online zijn er veel nieuwe maps beschikbaar.

Naast het verhaal van 007 Legends kun je ook genieten van de populaire Mi6 Ops Missions voor één speler. Deze missies maakten hun debuut in GoldenEye 007: Reloaded en dagen je uit om extra missies te voltooien waarin je moet sluipen en gadgets gebruikt om een topscore neer te zetten in de online-klassementen. Voor het eerst kruip je in de huid van één van Bonds handlangers of één van de schurken, zodat je missies zowel door hun ogen beleeft als door die van 007. De multiplayer van James Bond bevat missies voor vier spelers op een gedeeld scherm en onlinespellen met nieuwe maps, wapens en personages uit 50 jaar James Bond.
